Bespoke Treks

Walking Holidays Your Way

Walking Holidays Your Way

As you know, we have run both guided treks and self-guided treks from the Chamonix valley for many years. The Tour du Mont Blanc and the Walkers Haute Route will always be popular walking holidays as they truly are some of the world’s best hiking trails.

We take care of all the arrangements and our Clients have the excitement of arriving at a new place each night. Each refuge or hotel provides its own unique charm, style, hospitality and food. And each area offers its own beauty, no two spots are the same…

Bespoke Trekking Holidays

However, we have also offered bespoke treks for Clients wanting something a little different. Families are often looking at booking more than one night for various parts of the journey. People with disabilities need to be catered for. Sometime our Clients know exactly what they want - but need our help to ensure their dream becomes reality. This is our job, so don’t hesitate to get in touch if you want us to create a walking holiday that fits your needs.

Day-hiking Holidays

Next year we will also be offering more holidays that involve day hikes. Day trekking means you start and finish each day from the same accommodation. The Chamonix Valley is vast and it is so easy to go through the tunnel into the Aosta Valley or over the Col de Montets into Switzerland to enjoy the spectacular day treks that can be started in the morning and finished the same day.

Day hiking as part of an arranged program allows people to enjoy the beauty of walking in the mountains each day and each new hiking trail present new challenges and rewards. You will enjoy wonderfully different scenery on each day hike - whilst at the same time having the luxury and comfort of knowing exactly where you will be sleeping each night.

Walking with Confidence

We plan all of your hikes in conjunction with you. Take care of all the route planning, travel arrangements and administration. You then choose the level of assistance you need: you can choose to self-guide, with all of the information you need for each days hike provided by us, or have a professional mountain guide with you on each of your day treks, making sure you gain the most from every days hike in terms of safety, route and environment knowledge and ease.

The Benefits of Walking Your Way

There is no need to carry heavy backpacks or have luggage transfers, as you will keep the bulk or your gear “at home”. If you have special dietary requirements, you can have this all sorted for your entire holiday before you even start on the first hiking trail.

If you don’t feel ready to hike the entirety of the Tour of Mont Blanc, you can still sample the wonder of hiking in the mountains and simply do parts of the famous hiking trail. Or if you would love to hike across the Swiss, Italian and French Alps but are not sure that the Tour de Monte Rosa or the Walkers Haute Route are for you this can still be arranged. Daily, with all the organisation done for you – you just have to show up and enjoy.

Families especially enjoy this type of holiday. Often choosing to base themselves in Chamonix or Courmayeur (or both!). We arrange day-hikes for those that want to and the base-camps are actually gorgeous Alpine villages with plenty of attractions for those in the group that aren’t hiking each day.

Other Activities

Courmayeur and Chamonix offer a multitude of attractions. Blessed with gloriously sunny weather for the majority of the hiking season you can choose to rest in spas and pools on the days that you aren’t hiking. Or explore the museums or shops which range from local craft and produce, to sports gear to high-end Haute Couture.

For the more adventurous there are many, many activities: glacier walking, rafting, canyoning, horse-riding, parapenting or exploring the unmissable Mont Blanc to name just some.
Chamonix is amazing for climbing and has a selection of challenging climbs and beginners and experts can take advantage of the 19 bolted outdoor routes, whilst the Aguilles Rouges and Mont Blanc Massif offer many more possibilities for those prepared to take them on.

The valleys of both Chamonix and Aosta (Courmayeur) offer a multitude of exciting and challenging biking trails, from casual bike rides to heart thumping terrains and all gear can be hired locally. Swimming, tennis, golf, petanque are all easily acessible.

For children, these towns are brilliant – action packed with plenty of fun for all ages. There are plenty of parks, shaded woodland walks and rivers and lakes to picnic at. And there are so many activities for all ages, there will be no problem keeping the children entertained whilst the adults have fun walking in the mountains.
