Walking Holidays Your Way
For Clients wanting something a little different, our bespoke holidays allow you to tell us exactly what you are looking for, from trek levels, to food requirements, dates, duration and of course location. We can help you to realise your dream of hiking a well-known route or walking a path less travelled. Self-guided or guided with our local UIMLA International Mountain Leaders.
There are many reasons why people book our bespoke treks - from having complete freedom of choice, to having every need catered for.
Families often require revised itineraries. People with disabilities need to be catered for. Not everyone wants the exertion of a grade 7, full day hike. More and more we are welcoming people who want to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the mountains, but perhaps for a few hours during the day and often without the steep lengthy climbs that are part of a traditional trekking holiday. Sometimes our Clients simply know exactly what they want - but need our help to ensure their dream becomes reality.
This is our job, so don’t hesitate to get in touch if you want us to create a walking holiday that fits your needs.
Day hikes allow you to start and finish each mountain adventure from the same accommodation - you can enjoy spectacular walks on the mountains that can be started in the morning and finished the same day.
Day hiking as part of an arranged program allows people to enjoy the beauty of walking in the mountains each day - and each new hiking trail presents new challenges and rewards. You will enjoy wonderfully different scenery on each day’s trek - whilst at the same time having the luxury and comfort of knowing exactly where you will be sleeping each night.
Alpine Trek Locations
The Alps are a vast chain of mountains spanning many countries in Europe and are breathtakingly beautiful at any time of year. You can choose to be based in Zermatt in the Swiss Alps, Courmayeur in Italy, or Chamonix Mont Blanc in France.

Guided or Self Guided Treks
Trek with confidence. We plan all of your hikes in conjunction with you. Take care of all the route planning, accommodation and administration. You then choose the level of assistance you need: you can choose to self-guide, with all of the information you need for each days hike provided by us, or have a professional mountain guide with you on each of your day treks, making sure you gain the most from every day's hike in terms of safety, knowledge and ease.
The Benefits of Walking Your Way
Trek Dates: There are no set dates that you are tied to. You can walk in the Alpine mountains from April to October, depending on which type of trek you are looking for.
Trek Duration: You decide the length of your holiday. You may have only a long weekend to spend in the mountains or prefer to take your time in this wonderful area and experience the highlights of the Alps over a couple of weeks, you decide.
Trek Location: You can choose… Zermatt in Switzerland, Courmayeur in Italy or Chamonix Mont Blanc in France. You may even decide that you want to combine locations, depending on the length of your trip.
Trek Accommodation: With this holiday you have the security of knowing exactly where you will be staying each night. You can have the same accommodation for the entire vacation, enjoying each day on the mountains looking forward to returning “home” each evening.
What to Eat on your trek: If you have special dietary requirements you can have this all sorted for your entire vacation before you even start out on the hiking trails.
Trek Fitness: If you don’t feel ready to hike the entirety of the Tour of Mont Blanc, you can still sample the wonder of hiking in the mountains and simply do parts of the famous hiking trail. Or if you would love to hike across the Swiss, Italian and French Alps but are not sure that the Tour de Monte Rosa or the Walkers Haute Route are for you, this can still be arranged. Daily, with all the organisation done for you – you simply show up and enjoy. Therefore, if you have always dreamed of embarking on a "once in a lifetime" high mountain trek, you can come on holiday to the Alps to train and reach the fitness level needed to take on a multi-day hike!
Family Treks: Groups of different fitness levels and families especially enjoy this type of holiday. We arrange day-hikes for those that want to, and the base-camps are actually gorgeous Alpine villages with plenty of attractions for those in the group that aren’t hiking each day.
Health: It’s an extra safety measure with regards to Covid-19 as these walking holidays are designed so that you remain in the same “bubble” all vacation. Same room, same hotel and same group out on the mountains.
Luggage on your trek: There is no need to carry heavy backpacks, as you will keep the bulk or your gear “at home” in your accommodation.
Courmayeur, Chamonix Mont Blanc and Zermatt offer a multitude of attractions. Blessed with gloriously sunny weather for the majority of the hiking season you can choose to rest in spas and pools on the days that you aren’t hiking. Or explore the museums or shops which range from local craft and produce, to sports gear, to high-end Haute Couture.
For the more adventurous there are many, many activities: glacier walking, snow-shoeing, rafting, canyoning, horse-riding, climbing, parapenting or exploring the iconic mountains of Mont Blanc or the Matterhorn to name a few.
A huge range of sports from Archery to Volleyball are all easily accessible. The valleys of our bespoke trek locations offer a multitude of exciting and challenging biking trails, from casual bike rides to heart thumping terrains and all gear can be hired locally. There are wonderful golf and tennis clubs and swimming in both indoor pools and the many beautiful lakes are also popular.
For children, these towns are brilliant – action packed with plenty of fun for all ages. There are plenty of parks, shaded woodland walks and rivers and lakes to picnic at. And there are so many activities for all ages, there will be no problem keeping the children entertained when they aren't enjoying the special closeness a family feels when walking in the mountains.
