It’s hard to believe we are now nearly into August & the season is nearly halfway through. In a year that promised very little early on we have been so pleasantly surprised that travel finally opened up in June & our clients could finally travel to the Alps to take their much needed & overdue adventure holiday! President Macron & the EU stood to their word & made it possible for Vaccinated tourists to enjoy everything Europe has to offer.
It has been a total delight to welcome once again our clients from America & Canada, you were sadly missed in 2020.
Despite the difficulties over in the United Kingdom we have also welcomed clients who decided that the benefits of 2 weeks in the Alps totally outweighed the quarantine on their return home.
So, meeting & greeting our guided & self-guided clients has meant a little more this year, a feeling of hope, excitement & rejuvenation & although we are not out of the woods yet, we have really turned a corner on what has been such a difficult time. Clients have also commented on the warm welcome from hotel, restaurant & bar owners, so pleased to be of service to travellers from outside of Europe.
It’s not been all plain sailing, once again snow on the trail caused a few problems in early season & then the rain! The necessity for decent kit was never in any doubt as some groups has many days of wet weather. Finally, more settled weather has returned, beautiful sunny days & the return of those fabulous views.
