Early Autumn Update on TMB Route Conditions

03/09/2018

As we are now officially into Autumn and into the final weeks of an amazing season there still seams to things happening that affect some areas of the route.

After last weeks landslide which resulted in the death of a hiker on the TMB the high path from the Col du Montets via the Tete du Vent remains closed for the rest of the season. Any folk on the final day of the Tour du Mont Blanc will need to bypass this section by taking the route from Argentiere either via the ladders or by keeping left lower down which brings you up to the west of the ladders.

The Compangie du Mont Blanc continue to have problems with the lift systems in the Valley with the top section of the Aiguille du Midi remaining closed until further notice and also problems with the cable car at La Tour to Charamillion see the closure of the lift for the remainder of the season. See here for further information: https://www.chamonix.com/lifts,88,en.html

New bus timetables are now in affect in the Chamonix valley https://chamonix.montblancbus.com/en, Val Veny http://www.savda.it/public/linee/allegati/780_it.pdf & Val Ferret http://www.savda.it/public/linee/allegati/755_it.pdf on the Italian side of the Mont Blanc Massif.
