Summer Temperatures have arrived and the snow is now melting fast.

Lots of water on the ground, in addition to the sounds and sights of rockfall as the mountains adapt to the warmer temperatures.

The trails on the TMB are busy with hikers sharing the challenge and fabulous views.

On Friday I completed one last recce to see the trail conditions on the Col des Fours which has been out of bounds until now due to steep snow slopes. It now seems many people are passing over this route.

There are still patches of snow on either side of the mountain pass. There is a well trodden track in place through these snow passages.

Equally the ground needs to be respected and Microspikes and walking poles are still useful as the terrain is steep in places.

The descent from col heading down to Ville des Glaciers still holds some large patches of snow and care needs to be taken on the descent.

The snow is wet and slippery with the possibility of injury if you slide.

However, this route is now passable with care.

River, stream crossings are more full than normal.

Allow extra time for this day.

Only pass in good weather.
