The Tour du Mont Blanc ... Once again we are remembering why you never disappoint! The views of the mighty Mont Blanc -revealing scenery that changes by the minute and cuisine that rewards us for our efforts each day are just two of the reasons that spring to mind.
Tour du Mont Blanc 2022 – Hiking Routes
We’ve done the full route, starting and finishing in Chamonix, (the adventure capital of Europe). The Westerly TMB which starts in Chamonix and follows the mountain trails anti-clockwise the French Alps and Italian Alps finishing at Courmayeur. And the Easterly Tour of Mont Blanc Trek: starting in Italy in the wonderful village of Courmayeur and walking around 62 miles (100km) through the Italian Alps, into the Swiss Alps and finishing in the French Alps at Chamonix.
Tour du Mont Blanc 2022 – Food
Each time I remember the food in each of the countries I cannot wait to get there! Each country has its own character; the Italians have their espresso and home-made pasta, the French have fresh baguettes and wonderful cheese, and the Swiss have their chocolate and fondues! Every region has its own wine (of course!) and they all share an aficionados love of local meat and cheese. Seriously, what’s not to love!?
Tour du Mont Blanc 2022 – Trail Conditions
The conditions are superb. The weather is constantly changing, but there is nothing unusual in that, and the trails are well maintained. Each section of the trek has its own identity and every day, you can bet that the effort is worth it. (There’s a reason why the Tour du Mont Blanc is one of the most famous hikes in the world!)
Tour du Mont Blanc 2022 – Accommodation
The accommodation is busy! However, we are fortunate to have great relationships with local guest houses, hotels and the refuges, so we’ve had no problems and enjoyed not just cosy accommodation, but great hospitality.
I love watching Clients faces as we turn the last corner of the day, and the accommodation comes into view! Having climbed or descended (or both!) around 3,000 feet (915+ metres) and walked over 12 (20km) miles who wouldn’t be happy to see the faces of the guest house owners waiting to greet them?
The Tour Du Mont Blanc continues to be an absolute dream for us to host our guided treks and plan your self-guided treks - and is a must for any serious hiker’s bucket list.
